 The Rules (updated 10/10/07)
« Thread Started on Jul 9, 2007, 8:54pm »

Ok, I think I am a fair admin, but we still need rules. There won't be to many of them, and it won't be to strict.
This is a mature roleplay, if you are not at least 14, I suggest you do not join and close this window.

Please note that if you do not make (or finish) a character's bio within one week of joining and do not tell me a good reason as to why you will be deleted. You will also be deleted if you do not log in for three weeks or more without posting in the absent board.

    Key:
    Red = New Rules
    Green = Changed Rule
    Blue = New Category

    General Rules

  • No powerplaying or god modeling.
  • No perfect characters, everybody has flaws.
  • All posts need to be at least 150 words. If people fail to meet this easy posting limit then the admins will be forced to take action.
  • Please follow all rules and forms.
  • Cursing is allowed, but do not over use or abuse this or it will be taken away. For those of you that do not want to see such content you may modify your personal censored words.
  • Every two weeks is a new month.
  • Only characters 17 or older that are no longer in school may join the Order of the Phoenix.

    Posting

  • Please post in size 1. It makes the post look nicer and can also make it look longer.
  • When posting IC, please type in bold when a character is talking and in italics when a character is thinking.

    Creating A Character

  • All histories and personalities need to be at least 150 words. This is an intermediate RPG, so if you are unable to do 150 simple words then you do not belong here.
  • On the sample post section, the sample post must be at least 150 words. Unless you are trying out for a canon charactaer. the biger the canon character has in the books the longer the sample post should be. But all sample posts for a canon character should be at least 200 words, but that is for minor canons.
  • Please follow the form, you may ad things to it as long as you fill out everything else correctly.
  • You may only have one character per account. This makes it easier on the staff for Harry potter RPGs. You may have as many characters as you wish as long as you only have one per account.
  • You may make a wizard, witch, or creature. Wizards and witches can have pet creatures.
  • The only pets a student may bring with them to Hogwarts is a pigmypuff, rat, toad, cat, or owl.
  • You do not have to play a student, you may only play a creature if you want. You may also play teachers or any other adult. For teachers or main characters your joining post must be very good and you must be active.
  • Make sure you have your characters name as your username.

    Canon Characters

  • No more than two canon characters per player.
  • If you are trying to get a main canon character such as Albus Dumbledore, Sirius Black, Lord Voldemort, etc, then your joining post must be very good. If you wish to RP a canon character then just fill out the form like you would an original character. Any canon character that is alive in The Order of the Phoenix is up for play, this includes teachers, students, adults, etc.
  • If you become inactive and you play a canon character, I will delete your account and the character will be auditioned for again.

    Dating

  • Like in real life, characters can date, fall in love, break up, etc.
  • You may only date one character at a time, if your character is dating more than one at a time, you will be warned.
  • Graphic posts are allowed, but mark it with a [R] or [M], or something along those lines.
  • Creatures can breed.
  • If anything in your post (whether it is a dating thread or a normal thread) is going to have excessive cursing or anything of graphic nature please add a warning to the title.

The Following is rules of Hogwarts.

Rules

· First-year students are not allowed to have broomsticks.
· Students are allowed to have an owl, a cat, or a toad, but this rule doesn't seem to be strictly enforced - Percy and Ron Weasley had Scabbers, a rat, and Lee Jordan had a giant tarantula.
· Students cannot enter the Forbidden Forest, except for detentions with Hagrid or the occasional Care of Magical Creatures lesson.
· Students cannot use magic in the corridors between classes.
· Snape said students couldn't carry a library book out of the castle - but he probably just made that rule up.
· Fighting is against school rules.
· Students were to remain in their common rooms and dormitories at night.
· Students are not to use magic over the school holidays.
· Students are to take the train to Hogwarts - not a flying car.
· Don't dirty the castle.
· Students need a slip signed by teacher to take out books of the Restricted Section in the library.
· Students should not steal potion ingredients from Snape's office - nor should they make dangerous potions, such as Polyjuice Potion.
· First and second-year students cannot visit Hogsmeade; third-year and older students need a signed permission slip to visit the village.
· Students should not speak up (at least in Snape's class) unless called upon.
· Students must be 17 years old and have a license to Apparate.
· Argus Filch has a list of objects forbidden in the castle; it can be viewed in his office if anybody would like to check it.
· Never attack an opponent when his or her back is turned (as Mad-Eye Moody said).
· Never use the Unforgivable Curses on a Muggle, witch, or wizard.
· Love potions are against Hogwarts school rules.
· Boys not allowed in girls' dormitories; according to Hogwarts, A History, the founders believed that girls are more trustworthy than boys.
· Only fifth-year and older students are allowed to be out in the corridors until nine o'clock.
· Do not eat food in the library - especially chocolate Easter eggs.
· The Wizarding Examinations Authority sets rules for the OWLs and NEWTs, and all aids to magical cheating are forbidden.
· Don't wear Muggle clothing in Hogwarts
· All Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes joke items are banned
· Do not be out of bed after hours
· Always be respectful to your teachers
· The potion Felix Felicis is a banned substance in sporting events, examinations, and elections.
· Thieving is not tolerating at Hogwarts.
· No Dark Magic objects are allowed into Hogwarts.
